over a month

And time has finally gifted me with the very answers that Ive been searching for. I havn't been writing because I've been searching, not reflecting.

I miss my leather bound book; my J as I would call it...My words are going to be contained within, but don't fret, you will be noted about the very things my life includes.

fall leaves are falling...until then friends

lifes interuptions

I haven't been placed in a situation like this in a good while...

and for the oddest reason it brought tears to my eyes. Why?

....I think I know exactly why, and I don't like it...

mph. I wont let it consume my thoughts I suppose

playing catchup

greetings from a busy college student...

Life as Kate W Holland has been drastically busy, but the busy-ness was exactly what I needed, what I had been longing for.

lets see... A visit to Chapel Hill was well spent with miss Anna Karam. It was great to see again, a friendly face. I can say with all confidence that I would LOVE all the walking, biking, and boarding that is included with a college campus. But hey I can't judge Ai... dude, its art school.

The 26th was an invigorating day for me. I had been longing for distance in which I could run endlessly. NCSU was my beholder of this endless distance. Honestly I was craving the "college vibe" since I can't really get that from The Art Institute. So, I threw on my tennis shoes, shorts, and tank and headed to hillsborough street. It was a perfect day, hot as all get out, sunshineeeeee sweet sunshineee, and a slight breeze. My kind of running weather. My feet hit the ground around 3:00pm and they were lifted at 5:00pm. Ha, what can I say...I needed that distance. But needless to say I was feeling the distance as soon as I stepped into the my apartment door; i loved it. And to add onto all the happiness, Corey was on his way to the city of Raleigh with his good friend, Tyler. 6:00pm came around and I was back out the door, showered and dressed. "meet me on cox ave." said Corey. Arrival to Cox Ave, took a right, took another right, house on left. Welcome to the definition of a college students home. A hippie van parked in the parking lot, serious mosquito infestation, and hippies living upstairs... A group of four of us headed to Mellow Mushroom for dinner. Oh the rest of the evening... c h i l l m o d e and kate and corey time, finally!

The 27th: corey, crabtree with kaitlin and tyler, teavana, yankee candle, back to tyler and adams house on cox ave., kate and corey time.

The 28th: corey, fat sound guitars, hillbourough st., planets smoothie, goodbyes, and movies with about 40 some tarheels.

After my entire week of fun, saturday and sunday were days of sketching, job applying, grocery buying, airport going, and mom and dad visiting.

Mhh, today was a pretty odd day. It was random, yes. very cold, and highly productive.

Tomorrow holds Drawing and Perspective at 8am and English at 12pm-5pm.

Thank goodness for no classes on wed!

my apartment is a mess.

oh and I think im going to begin printing out these blogs and pasting them in my J. just saying...

friendly faces-keds-white choc.mocha's

I find myself slightly speechless, perhaps tongue-tide..

I arrived in the wonderful town of pleasant garden around 5:00pm, Thursday. I arrived to my grandparents so I could hide my car, being unseen. It was Dad's 53rd birthday. He had no idea we were in town. At 6:30pm, my phone rang. Brooke was home. Frantically we drove (windows down, java in hand, Oasis playing loud) to Food Lion to grab balloons and a card. His balloon read, "It's not the age that matters, its the attitude". We arrived...Dad and mom were walking to their car after aerobics. Drive way over the speed limit through a church parking lot, slamming on breaks, parking horribly, we leaped out of the car screaming, "surprise!!!" His face was priceless. Happiness couldn't cover his expression. Lasagna, salad, and praline and cream ice cream cake set the mood for the night.
I couldn't tell you the last time I had family time. It was a blast.

Falling asleep in my own room, even though its completely empty, felt so safe. The turquoise and brown combination of paint relaxed my thoughts.

Yesterday was an afternoon with Corey, Matt, and Justin. Running around Greensboro was random. And needless to say trying to find "windows basic vista" was impossible.. poor Cor. The evening was finished with half a veggie burger at the dorans and homework until 10.

7:45am was the designated time to wake up this morning. Ah, the feeling of waking up, randomly throwing on jeans and keds, and heading to Starbucks... And even better, miss anna karam met me there in her ever so fitting, Toyota Camry. Oh the smile on our faces. You would think we hadn't had any company in ages. Oh, the sight of a friendly face. We only had an hour, but we could have talked for hours. Yet, UNC was calling amk's presence. I couldn't explain to you how excited I am to have her 20 minutes away. So, im preparing to co-exist among The Art Institute and UNC chapel hill. Were calling one another, "Comfort friends- people who can sit in a chair and do nothing and be completely content together."

I drove home afterward, with all of my windows down along with Incubus and Jack playing. It felt good. It feels good to be ME.

TODAY

-Had an interview at "The Body Shop"... Despite the feeling of having to sell oneself, I'd say it went well.
-Spent the remainder of my afternoon at Barnes and Nobles reading about "Simple Living" for one of my papers. I tried to finish a chapter for my design class, but after three "go green" magazines, my attention span was gone.
-I then went on an adventure into arts and crafts stores searching...well hunting for a one inch, square punch tool. Needless to say, The Art Institute assigns tools that are ridiculously hard to find! Yet after multiple U-turns and turnarounds, Micheal's contained my treasure.

Today's can be dubbed as good. I'm learning that time alone, isn't such a bad thing, after all.
time to grab some brushes, guash, and my paint pallet.
Grey-scale swatches here I come!

PS: Jones Soda, limes with orange is by far the best I've ever tried.
